To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Philosophy

The nature of our experience involves the Mind and the Body. Our Mind holds thoughts and beliefs about our experiences and shapes a “story” of who we are. When our story becomes constricted by past negative or traumatic events it limits our ability to engage in the present, live fully and create new stories about ourselves. And it can hold us in fear of the future.

Our Body responds to the world through internal and external sensations and movements. It too can become “frozen” in the past and develop physical symptoms over time. Unresolved trauma that is held in the body affects our physical and emotional responses to the present. Bound to the past we are less able to move and respond in tune with the moment.

Therapy can offer, in a safe, and supportive environment, an opportunity to explore your "stuck" places. Together we can discover your path to relief and freedom to be yourself.
